Spectra V3i Finds $60,000 Ring

I recently responded to a "Lost and Found" ad in the local newspaper and this ring is what I found and returned to the grateful owner. I only had my phone camera at the time as I was searching for a "wedding ring"– so I apologize for the not so good picture quality. The ring was lost in a park at night and had been searched for by the family, the cops, and other detectorists for almost a week.

I was able to find it in about 2.5 hrs. As is usually the case, it was found away from the area that it was thought to be lost. It was found in a ditch under leaves and pine needles. I used the V3i with the C&J program and the 5.3 Eclipse loop. The ring was made by JB Star with 3.5 carat round brilliant cut center diamond and 98 other diamonds at another 2.4 carats or so for a total diamond weight of close to 6 carats – made of 900 platinum and 18 kt gold. It had a VDI @ 25 – same as a pulltab – but it sounded like a boat anchor! LOL

By far the most valuable find I've made in 30 years of metal detecting. I've used White's machines exclusively and will continue to do so. I love my Spectra V3i and look forward to many more spectacular finds. Just goes to show that if a technology-challenged old geezer like me can use this machine to find this ring, then anybody can!! Thanks for building the best metal detectors and providing the best service in the industry – and doing it from the USA!

Thanks,
Ferrel (MANDAD76)
