Location: New York
Metal Detector Used: M6
What a hobby! I’ve been detecting for almost 3 years now and have found some truly amazing things with my White’s detectors. My dealer is Treasure Unlimited in Patchogue, NY. Mike and Fred are 2 of the greatest people around.
My folks home was built in 1959, and I’ve been meaning to go over there and detect their backyard. Last Saturday I was over and decided just to give it a quick search. On my 4th target I pulled an 1822 Large cent out. WOW. I was shocked and so were my folks! I went back on Sunday and recovered 10 Wheat cents. I still have to go back and go a little slower. I’m sure there is some silver there. Next time over I’ll bring my M6 with the Super 12 coil to go after some deeper coins.
Over the winter I was detecting an old campsite. I recovered about 20 silver coins there since January of 2008. I dug an overload signal and found this solid silver shoe buckle. The British controlled Long Island in the late 1700’s early 1800s. This is one of my most prized finds so far.
Thank you White’s for making such great machines. This is the best hobby I’ve ever had!
