Metal Detector Used: MXT
2008 has been a roller coaster for my family. April 24 my new daughter, Annarose was born extremely premature and was hospitalized in excess of a month. With the focus turned to my new daughter, treasure hunting had to be put on hold.
I have used a White's MXT since I began detecting and have been lucky enough to have found numerous CW relics and hundreds of coins however in October I was able to find one of the most prized pieces of my collection. A family friend has even made a miniature version of the MXT for Annarose, complete with coil and target id box.
Annarose was doing very well and I felt that it was time for her to make her first trip out relic hunting before the cold weather set in. I had scouted out an 1800's era house very close by and decided that this would be the place. Dressed in her camo and wearing her pink John Deere boots we set out with the MXT and camera in hand to film a new episode of GAdirtfishin for our Youtube site - I just had to have her on film since it was her first trip.
The hunt only lasted about 30 minutes but it was very memorable. The first target turned out to be a wheat penny. Not too bad of a start I thought, however the next target turned out to be an 1890 IH penny!!!! What luck!!! On her first hunting trip she found an IH penny, it took me almost a year before I found my first........ok maybe she didn't swing the detector to find it but she told me where to dig! I plan to take her to one of my CW sites soon, who knows she may find a CS plate!
White's, thank you for making a truly unforgettable memory for my family and I. It won't be too long before I will be purchasing her first detector, no doubt it will be a White's - I have a great little hunting partner for years to come.
May God Bless You
