2009 has been a good detecting year for sure. I managed to get 2 firsts this year I've always wonder whether or not I would find and that is bullion. The first one I found on May 22nd in a park and it is a Mexican silver Libertad and wow what a nice big chunk of silver is what I thought when I dug it. It gave me a dollar reading on the VDI scale. The second one I found on July 13th also in a park and it is a beautiful 1 gram gold ingot framed in 14K, it was a VDI 24 and when analyzing it before I dug it I thought this looks and sounded just like a ring for sure.
I dug the plug and about 3 inches deep into the plug I seen the beautiful glimmer of gold, at first I thought it can't be real until I opened my trusty Swiss knife with a magnifying glass and gave it the once over and then I knew what I had found "PURE GOLD" . It just can't get much better than that.
The third picture is of a beautiful seated dime that I dug from one of the most hammered parks in town here. It was down deep and gave me a whisper of a sound but the VDI still lock on 82 when I was analyzing it so I had to dig. And dig and dig some more and after my lesche was all the way in the hole I finally seen the shiny silver down in the bottom of the hole. These finds were all made with the D2 coil on my MXT and I can't stress the fact of how remarkable this coil has been on the MXT.
Thanks White's for building such fine detectors, I have and always will own White's.Larry N. (Michigan)
