I have only been detecting a couple of months with my M6, but boy have I made an amazing recovery that almost got away!

I was detecting on an old home site when I found a coin with thirteen line son the reverse and I thought it was a cheap token of some type. I threw it in my junk box and didn’t think about it much. I decided to call and tell the story to Bob at Northeast Metal Detectors. He asked me to lightly clean the front and see if it showed markings of USA.

Guess what? It did! Bob told me I had just recovered a super rare 1785 USA bar cent. It was one of the first coins issued in our new country. The 13 lines on the reverse represented the 13 original colonies. The estimated value of the coin is $2000+!
