Metal Detector Used: Spectra V3i
Back before I retired 10 years ago I worked with an older guy for 23 1/2 years, I knew him very well. He owned an old church and had made it his home. It was about a month ago I went out to see him and we talked for quite some time about the old church and I asked him for permission to hunt the yard area for coins, he said since he knew me real well he agreed to let me hunt it.
On 9-2-11 I gave it a go and found an 1864 2 cent piece, went back 9-6-11 and found another oldie an 1877 seated quarter, was working on my house, finally got back out to the old church 9-22-11 after about 3 hours I had found 3 seated coins in the same hole, they were, 1861 seated quarter, 1876-cc dime and a 1850 half dime. I went back again 9-23-11 and found more oldies, first there was a 1873 seated dime, then a 1863 Indian head, also a 1851 3 cent piece in the same hole.
Later an 1866 Indian head finally wrapped up the day with another 1863 Indian head. All these coins were found at 6" to 8" deep. In the 4 times I have hunted that place I have yet to find a new coin not that I am complaining but it does seem odd...I owe all these old coins to my M6 made by White’s the best turn on and go detector made!
