White's Electronics,

I am new to this site and wanted to share my story with you. My name is Mike and I am from Long Island, New York. My wife purchased my first medal detector about 9 years ago (White’s IDX pro) I was not married at the time and was looking for a special way to propose. I sold my 2001 Harley Davidson fatboy in 2002 to purchase an engagement ring. I then decided go to the beach with my wife and bury the ring when she wasn't looking.

We were the only people on the beach, I figured I would mark it with a footprint and we would be fine. I know, I know.... I just thought in a worst case scenario I could follow my foot prints back and dig up the ring. I also did have the White’s IDX pro with me, what could go wrong? Well, before you know it, a family comes running on the beach, a big family, with lots of kids and there were foot prints everywhere. My wife started to feel a little embarrassed (we were beginners) and she wanted to leave. I convinced her to walk down the beach with me one last time before we go.

We passed over where I thought the ring was with no tone now my heart is pounding, I start to think, did somebody find the ring? Did the fast rising water wash it away? And then there it was the second best sound I have ever heard next to my daughter’s first cry when she was born........beep..... I then bent down and dug up the ring and proposed.

She said yes! It was the best find I have ever made and will always be treasure, my wife. With work and family, it really didn't leave me much time to hunt. I decided to make time again and get back into hunt. I recently purchased a new White’s VX3. I am learning it now and having a lot of fun with it. My daughters are older now and enjoy joining me in the hunt. I joined a local metal detecting club and look forward to sharing my finds with you.

Thank you for reading,

LI-Mike
