Item Found: Relic

Location: Virginia

Metal Detector Used: Spectra Series (800-0308)

July 1st, 2011

Dear White's,

I brought my White's V3i to the "Diggin In Virginia", DIV XVII Civil War Relic Hunting event. It was my first DIV, and I had incredible beginner's luck. In addition to bullets, buttons, and other assorted relics, I found an Eagle Sword Belt Plate laying ON TOP OF THE GROUND!

Earlier with my V3i, I started detecting relics that were collecting in an area where rain water had formed path, I followed the path to where this buckle was washed by rain water to the bottom of the corn field. Lots of other amazing relics were found by others using White's detectors on that 3 day hunt. I can't believe that I found a Union Calvary officer's sword belt plate on the site of The Battle of Brandy Station, the largest cavalry battle of the Civil War. It was a good day.

Thanks and have a great day!
Joe (VA)
