Metal Detector Used: M-Series (800-0284)

Dear White's Electronics,

My name is Jennifer and I am a parent of a charter school student and a "new" metal detector enthusiast. The reason I say "new" is that, although my husband and I only recently purchased an MXT and MXT pro, I grew up metal detecting with my father. He was a circuit board and graphics designer for Compass Electronics 30 or so years ago and he would bring home models to test on the weekends. He would load us up and take us to the school yard and we would play while he would hunt. Occasionally, we would get to swing it around or dig a little ourselves. It was until recently that my interest in metal detecting resurfaced and in October of 2011, my husband surprised me with almost matching detectors.

About a month ago, I found our best find to date. It was a 1995, NCAA, Regional Championship, World Series baseball playoff ring (Div II). And as luck would have it, the owner's name was engraved on the inside of the band. With a little help from Facebook, we located the owner's family (and subsequently the owner) and were able to reunite him with his memento of a very special time in his life. Although, I haven't found anything nearly as exciting since, we still love to try to get out every couple of weeks, weather permitting. Last weekend, some boys came up to us while we were detecting and were quite interested in what we were doing, one even stating, “I wish I had one".

Sincerely,

Jennifer
