“A local lady that had lost her wedding ring in her goat pen. She had attempted to locate the ring with a rented metal detector and could not figure out how to use it. She then decided to look in the phone book for someone to come out and help. Our local Metal Detector Club (Olympic Peninsula Treasure Hunters) was contacted. Al Bailey one of our members contacted her ask asked when we could come out. After setting up a time Al and I went to see if we could find her ring. When we got to the site it was clear that we would be deep in goat droppings. We detected for about an hour and the lady that had lost the ring was getting discouraged felt it was gone for good. We thought we had it on several occasions. Aluminum cans and nails were becoming our friend. As I started to recheck the piles we had already removed I got a good signal and there it was between several layers of hay and that other stuff. The ring had found and the owner was overwhelming happy.”
