Date- March 28th 2014, Location- Mojave Desert, On a gold prospecting trip to Benson Canyon in the open public mining area, I got a strong hit in my headphones while searching mining tailings for possible missed gold.

I dug down about 4 inches and put my pinpointer in there and found the target was deeper. At about 7 inches came to a trash bag wrapped up with something in it, unrolled it and found a t-shirt wrapped around something.

I unrolled the t-shirt and it had a 410 sawed off shotgun and ammo belt with 410 shells in it. It is amazing what can be found in the middle of the desert. I used my MXT PRO in the Prospecting Mode when I found this.
