MY BROTHER AND MYSELFWERE METAL DETECTING AT THE LOCAL PARK(TWO WEEKS AGO). A PLACE I METAL DETECT MANY TIMES WITH DIDFFERENT WHITES DETECTORS. THIS DAY I HAD MY V3I. I WAS DIGGING TARGETS I DON'T USUALLY DIG. ABOUT 1/2 HOUR INTO THE HUNT I GET A NOT SO GOOD SIGNAL. BUT, I DUG ABOUT TWO INCHES AND OUT POP A 1998 CLASS RING FROM HERE IN MY HOME TOWN. I FOUND THE NAME ON THE RING ON FACEBOOK AND ONE OF HIS FRIENDS IS A MAN I WORK WITH HERE IN GENEVA. I GOT A PHONE NUMBER AND GOT THE RING TO HIM BY THURSDAY. THE RING HAD BEEN LOST FOR 15 YEARS. HE WAS SO HAPPY TO HAVE IT BACK AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. THE NEXT WEEKEND I WAS DOING THE SAME THING, DIGGING TARGETS I DON'T USUALLY DIG. I GOT A JUMPING SIGNAL. I DUG DOWN ABOUT 2 1/2 INCHES AND I SAW SILVER. IT WAS A 1763 MEXICO 1/2 REAL. IT'S HARD TO UNDERSTAND HOW IT COULD GOT THERE FOR THE HISTORY OF THE TOWN ONLY GOES BACK TO AROUND 1820. THIS IS MY OLDEST COIN TO DATE. BEFORE IT WAS A 1840 HALF DIME FOUND IN THE SAME PARK.
