I was in my last hunt in November 2013 and it was 27 degrees out with the ground partially frozen. In October my hunting buddy and I were hunting an old military campsite back in the late 1850’s in the Utah Territory and found a brass hand guard to a Cavalry sword. I went back to that spot hoping to find the other part of the handle or the blade, but I didn’t expect to find what I did. I was approximately 75 yards north into the trees of where I found the guard when my DFX gave me a solid 81 reading (same 81 when I found the guard). I dug down about 8 inches and uncovered a sword guard, except this one had the handle and blade attached. As I dug around it I discovered there was another sword! Thanks to White’s for an awesome product that helped me in finding 2 awesome relics and ending a great year of hunting.
